How-To “Picture My Life” with Traditional Scrapbooking

We all love the ease of quickly adding our photos and cute cards to divided protectors but I also love the variety of using those same Picture My Life Cards to make my traditional Scrapbook Pages.

For Always 2014 Lexi LO

On this Layout of my Granddaughter experiencing her first Snow, I used the various patterns as Background & Texture Paper and of course, took advantage of the great titles and icons to add interest to the topic.

Cut out the signs/titles in the shape they’re featured or cut them out in the shape you want them on your page.  You can combine titles and icons or mount them to other paper for more layers.  Be sure to save all your scraps for future inspiration!

I am constantly inspired by all the fun things on these cards!  Even something as simple as these 3 tags and the camera.  I cut them out, mounted them to my page and continued the zig-zag stitching across the top (the original card is above & behind the page in the next photo).

To get a nice background paper to match my pieces and to bring home the “snow” theme, I used the Spray Pens to spritz a little Black and then Desert Sand ink to White Daisy Cardstock.  I love working on our new All-Purpose Craft Mat – it makes it so much faster, simpler, and easier!  I also used Black Flourishes, and Black Stars to give it some added texture.

To break up the monotony of the straight lines, you can cut your cards into any shape.  Here I cut a 4×6 card into a half-circle and added my journaling around it.  I also love the look of using CTMH’s cool, new Base & Bling Signature Chalk Letters for titles.
